Betty Lorraine Prince, 86, of Columbus, GA entered eternal life on Sunday, August 7, 2016.  She was the daughter of Otha Guy and Mattie Lee Peterman.  Her spirit is carried on by her 10 children, 13 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, one surviving sibling, and many friends.

In 1947, Betty married the love of her life, James Luther Prince, in Butler, GA and moved to Columbus, GA to raise their children.  She was a very special mom who spent most of the time in the kitchen cooking some of the best meals anyone could ever have.  She loved to spend time with her family, travel, and crochet and “when she had the chance, she danced.”

Betty was a devoted mother and homemaker for most of her life.  She went to work for Garrett-Lane Photography where she was very dedicated to her work and enjoyed creating many wonderful and lasting friendships.

Betty is survived by her sister, Helen LaVonne Atkins (husband Rick), and her children, Judy Lehnhoff, Joan Exley of Springfield, GA (husband Dallas), Anne Wadkins (husband Ronald), Barbara Meacham Smith, Susan Watley, Angela Price of Wetumpka, AL (husband Roger), Cindy Dore of Lafayette, LA (husband Sam), James L. Prince, Jr. of Decatur, AL (wife Selena), Jane Baer (husband Malcolm), and Penny Fryer (husband Mike). Also survived by 13 grandchildren - Vicky, George, Carrie, DeWayne, Zachary, Brian, Derek, Bradley, Mallory, Lori Lee, Jonathan, Lindsey, and Patrick and 21 great grandchildren.   Her parents, husband, and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, 627 Whippoorwill Road, Reynolds, GA, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
