Graveside services for Hazel Standridge Spillers, 94, of Butler will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Butler Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Spillers passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Coliseum Medical Center.

Mrs. Spillers was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler. She was also a 1940 graduate of Butler High School.  She was employed with Public Service Telephone Company as a switchboard operator.    She later worked with Taylor County Extension Service for three years and then retired from Taylor County Health Department in October 1985 after 30 years of service.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, G.C. Spillers; parents, Willie Strandridge and Lucille Ivey Standridge; grandson Chris Jarrell; two brothers, Will Ernest Standridge and Robert Standridge.

Survivors include two sons, Cleve Spillers (Barbara) of Butler, Allan Spillers (Claire) of Butler; one daughter, Marilyn Spillers Hortman of Reynolds; seven grandchildren, Nancy Segroves (Jeff), Richard Hortman, Clark Hortman (Melinda), Bryan Spillers (Shae), Todd Spillers, Jan Hinton (Ricky) and Keith Spillers;   eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
