Funeral services for Kara Nicole McLeighton, 28, of Butler, will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Reynolds. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Kara passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 after a 4 year courageous battle with kidney failure. Although many never knew, she was musically gifted playing the piano and flute. She loved to spend time researching different cultures and ways of life. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George D. McLeighton and her maternal grandparents, J.C. "Ted" Lewis and Ina Pearl Lynn Lewis. She is survived by her parents, David and Donna Lewis McLeighton of Butler; her grandmother, Ila Mae McLeighton of Baxley; one brother, Adam (Tiffany) Osteen of Surrency; one nephew, Jesse Osteen; three nieces, Laynee Osteen, Kate Osteen and Mila Osteen; one great-aunt, Cathy (Ed) Dalton of Richmond Hill; one aunt, Donna (Rickey) Darsey of Baxley; two cousins, Joshua Darsey and Sarah Darsey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, from 5 to 7 pm at the First Baptist Church of Reynolds.
