William Worth Clifton went home to be with his Lord and Savior and his wife Colleen on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Roberta Evangelistic Church. Burial will follow in the Roberta City Cemetery.
He was an avid outdoorsman and an honorary member of the Georgia Sheriff Association. He was a member of Roberta Evangelistic Church for 32 years.
He and his wife of 72 ½ years sang with various gospel musicians including the Peace Makers. They were also part of the house band at Buckner’s Restaurant for 15 years. Worth was a multi-talented musician and vocalist who could play any instrument by ear. He loved to use his talent and teach others.
Mr. Clifton touched many young people’s lives through his coaching sports in elementary schools and Macon Youth Baseball Leagues.
Worth enjoyed his daily visits to BB&T, Roberta Drugs, Dollar General, Oak Grove Beauty Salon and Dr. Gaton’s office.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Sally Mae Clifton; wife, Colleen Crenshaw Clifton; grandson, Tee Clifton; sister, Sarah Leo Brown.
Those left to cherish his memory and wisdom; his four children, Terry Clifton (Cindy) of Warner Robins, Pam Leslie (Dan) of Macon, Karen Doss (David) of Ruston, LA and Tim Clifton (Joy) of Mars Hill, NC; ten grandchildren, Brandi Caldwell (Chris), Traci Underwood (Tommy), Mandy Bagwell, Wendy Wright, Mark Doss, Blake Leslie, Lauren Barnhill (Justin), Kevin Clifton (Macy), Myriah Clifton (Mitchell) and Cody Clifton; fourteen great grandchildren with another due in October; siblings, Philip Clifton, Frank Clifton (Peggy) and Opal Belknap; and abundance of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 11 until 1 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roberta Evangelistic Church Building Fund.
