Ben Maurice Spillers, 81, of Montgomery, AL, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. A Butler, GA native, who moved all over the country, never lacked memories or friends. Whether enjoying the laid back West coast or freezing in Ohio, Ben was passionate about reunions hosted in Butler, GA or Thanksgiving football games in Opine, AL.

University of Georgia alumni and other Bulldog paraphernalia can be found anywhere Ben laid his head. During ballgames, it was easy to find Ben as he was either cheering, yelling, or barking at the television in loud and proud Sigma Nu style. If you heard more yelling, he was likely coaching the Atlanta Braves from his easy chair. Regardless of his devotion to his alma matter, he easily set his prejudice aside for his two daughters who graduated from the University of Alabama.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Spillers and his daughters Jennifer Spillers of Atlanta, GA and Kori Johnson married to Stephen Johnson of Daphne, AL and his grandchildren Pruett Kramer, Freddie Kramer & Archie Johnson. Innumerable close friends and family members to account, his niece and family Susan, Tommy and David Parham, his nephew Sonny Dunaway, his nephew and family Alan, Claire, and Glenn Dunaway, his niece Marilyn Hortman, his nephew Cleve Spillers, and great great nephew Tyler Jarrell, friends Tess and Mike Smith, Jim and Cathy Ridling, Dickey Ball, Tony and Stephanie Craft, Charlie Rinehart, Bruce Patton, Joe and Arlene Strawn, Bob Smith, Marilyn Tucker, and Kim Huggins.

Ben was born to the late Benjamin Hill & late Corine McCrary Spillers. Also predeceased by his siblings Durwood Spillers, Grover Cleveland Spillers, Paul Spillers, Calvin Spillers, Clifford Spillers and Lucy Spillers Dunaway.
