Graveside services for Horace E. Whidby, Sr., 75, of Butler, will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2017 at Butler Memorial Cemetery.  Mr. Whidby passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Fort Valley Healthcare. 

Mr. Whidby was a professional musician traveling with Jean Shepherd in the 70’s.  He and his son played on the Country Tonight Show which was voted #1 in the United States.  He also played for the Veterans of Foreign War Club in Warner Robins and the Disabled American Veterans in Macon.  He was also a professional plumber and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazelhurst in Hazelhurst, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Whidby of Butler and one son, Horace Ellison Whidby, Jr. of Oklahoma.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
