James Wesley "Pete" Carroll, Sr.

Funeral services for James Wesley “Pete” Carroll, Sr., 80, of Roberta, will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Roberta United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. Mr. Carroll passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his residence.

Pete born and raised in Crawford County honorably served his hometown as chair of planning and zoning for numerous years. He diligently served clean and beautiful board and spent most of his retired years volunteering with his wife’s environmental campaign. He served on the Roberta City Council from 1968-1972. Pete was a member of the Roberta United Methodist Church and worked for Independent Life Insurance Company for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Addie Sara Carroll and two brothers, Billy Carroll and Johnny Carroll.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Carroll of Roberta; one son, James Wesley Carroll, Jr. of St. Simons; two brothers, Ross Winfred Carroll (Faye) of Macon and Jimmy Allen Carroll (Frankie) of Roberta; two granddaughters, Isabelle Lee Morris and Evie James Carroll; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Jay and Pam Andrews and their children, Colby and Haley.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
