Funeral services for Lucille Grier Elliott, 96, of Howard, will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at New Life Free Will Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Elliott passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Buena Vista.  She was an active member of New Life Free Will Baptist Church until she became disabled.  She was great homemaker that loved baking pecans pies and cakes and providing them to friends and loved ones.  She also enjoyed working in her garden which included vegetables and flowers.  She made beautiful handmade quilts that were used in homes all over the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur John Elliott and a son, Arthur John Elliott, Jr.; brothers, Claude Grier, Norman Grier, Monroe Grier; sisters, Dallas Sword, Delia McDaniel, Vera Bunting, Odessa Guthrie.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Elliott (Linda) of Box Springs and Richard Elliott of Buena Vista; one daughter, Inez Steed of West Point, GA; five grandchildren, Debbie Steed Nommensen (Larry) of West Point, Terry Elliott (Lee) of Mauk, Steven Elliott of Columbus, Ron Hall of Columbus, Tracie Elliott of Harris County, Randall Craig of Seale, AL; great-grandchildren, April Nommensen Cope (Josh), Matt Nommensen (Erin) and Brooke Elliott Barnes (Ryan), Jessica Camp (Gared) and Saige Elliott;  three great-great grandchildren, Kaylee and Zack Cope and Eli Nommensen.

Pallbearers are Terry Elliott, Steven Elliott, Ricky Grier, Brandon Grier, Larry Grier and Randall Craig. Ministers are Rev. Jimmy Stubbs and Rev. Brian Fuller.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 to 1 pm at New Life Free Will Baptist Church.
