Myra Cotney Harris, 82, of Butler, died Sunday, January 14, 2018, at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born January 4, 1936, in Butler, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Franklin Cotney.  She was preceded in death by her husband Taylor Harris.  Myra was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butler and retired from Flint EMC in January 2000.

She is survived by her two children, Phil (Kathy) Harris of Gainesville, GA and Hope (Ken) Weldon of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Holli Short, Trey Weldon, Maya Dillard, Kendall Weldon, Caitlyn Harris; one sister, Audrey Ingram of Cordele, GA; three great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Butler. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. also at the church.  Entombment will follow in Butler Memorial Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
