Funeral Services will be held at 11:00, with a graveside service immediately following at Butler Memorial Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Tucker and the Reverend Brian Litch will be officiating. Bussey was born in Butler, Georgia on March 1, 1941 to the late George Fountain Hammack and Myra Bone Hammack. He left high school and attended technical college in 1959 at South Georgia Technical College. He later decided to finish high school and graduated from Butler High School in 1962. He began his career working in his parent’s appliance store. However, he is most known for being the owner and operator of Bonanza Drilling and Well, licensed No. 15 in the State of Georgia. He spent over 40 years working in this field, taking over his father’s business. Bussey was a master electrician and a “jack of all trades.” He was exceptionally skilled at fixing cars, boats, tv’s, machinery, appliances- if it was broken, he could fix it. He was a member of Butler United Methodist Church, the Georgia Well Driller’s Association, the Fickling Lodge of Free Masons, the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. He also served on the Butler Airport Authority Board.

Bussey’s true treasure in life was his family. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Cosey, on June 10, 1962. They had two children, Stacy and Chip, and three grandchildren, Ansleigh, Caitlyn, and Noah.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Cosey Hammack; daughter, Stacy Hammack Jarrell and Stan; son, William Bussey Hammack, Jr. (Chip) and Vida; sister, Betty Jo Rue and Matt; brother, George Michael Hammack and Connie; sister-in-law, Sylvia Cosey Swain; brother-in-law, Paul Kay Cosey and Nellie; granddaughter, Ansleigh Jarrell Spell and Billy Jack; granddaughter, Caitlyn Cosey Jarrell; grandson, Noah Thomas Hammack; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
