Carolyn Parham Jarrell, 84, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held at her ancestral church, Historic Union Church, 141 Union Church Road, Butler, GA. 31006, Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will precede the funeral from 1:00-2:00 PM in the church sanctuary. A burial service will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. The Reverend Steve Patton will officiate. Musicians are Thomas P. Callier, Jr. and Diane Hill McGlaun. Her cousins Ben Hill Parham, Benjamin Hugh Cheek, Todd Spry Jarrell, John William Jarrell, Jr., Fred Stanford Jarrell, III, and Harold George Jarrell, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are her cousins: Harry Slade Roberts Jr., Courtenay Ware Parham and Jack Jarrell McGlaun.

Carolyn Parham Jarrell, daughter of Albert Polk Jarrell and Carolyn Parham Jarrell, was born March 3, 1941 in Columbus, GA. She graduated in 1959 from Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, GA. and was a graduate of North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. After graduating from college, Carolyn was employed in Atlanta at the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, a Division of the Georgia Department of Education where she was a loyal employee (Statistician) for over 41 years. She was a longtime member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta. Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle, kind and selfless spirit. Carolyn Jarrell was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Marianne Jackson Jarrell along with her cousins Fred Stanford Jarrell, Jr., John William Jarrell, Sr., Betty Jo Jarrell Teal and Mary Edith Jarrell Lee. She was the fourth of twenty-two grandchildren of Floyd Cannon and Mary McCants Jarrell of Taylor County GA where she was a proud landowner. Her maternal grandparents were Ben Hill Parham, Willie Bowden Parham Jackson and Stonewall Jackson, Columbus, GA.

Carolyn is survived by Edythe Hendrix, her amazingly faithful friend, co worker and longtime caregiver. Other survivors include her first cousins: Harry Slade Roberts, Jr., Ben Hill Parham, Courtenay Ware Parham, Rebecca Parham Kiefer, Leslie Parham Shorb, Mary Cheek Shepherd, Katrina Cheek McIntosh, Benjamin Hugh Cheek, Jan McGlaun Caves, Jack Jarrell McGlaun, Linda Jarrell Parker, Fran Jarrell Lane, Kitty Jarrell Meyran, Mark Floyd Jarrell, Scott McCants Jarrell, Reed Thelmon Jarrell, Todd Spry Jarrell, Joanna Jarrell Queen Harold George Jarrell, Jr., Julie Jarrell Yancey, Chappell Jarrell Miller and numerous other cousins.
