Corene Hobbs

Graveside services for Corene Heath Hobbs, 106, will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Mrs. Corene died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, peacefully at her home.  Born December 11, 1914 to Henrietta McCrary and Edgar Eugene Heath, she was a lifelong resident of Taylor County.  She was married to Henry S. Hobbs for 54 years until his death. She was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church.  Most of her friends knew her when she worked at Reynolds Pharmacy for 33 ½ years until her retirement at age 78.  Mrs. Corene was passionate about gardening and continued to do so until she was well into her 90’s.

 She is survived by her daughter, Angie Hobbs Swearingen and two grandsons, Dennis Swearingen (Mary Beth) and Bruce Swearingen (Shannon) and four great-granddaughters, Maggie, Lucy, Carley and Riley Swearingen.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reynolds United Methodist Church, PO Box 266, Reynolds, GA  31076.
