Funeral services for David J. Moncrief, 77, of Roberta will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 11:00 am at Roberta Evangelical Church.  Burial will follow in Roberta City Cemetery.  David joined the love of his life, Virginia, in heaven on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, 2022.

He attended Roberta Evangelical Church. He retired from Boeing after 25 years of service, was a longtime farmer and served three consecutive terms as Crawford County Commissioner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Moncrief, and Jennie Bell Cochran Moncrief; his wife, Virginia Moncrief; two brothers, Henry Moncrief, and Clarence Moncrief; and a sister, Hilda Dean Dukes.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Moncrief (Sherri) of Roberta; two daughters, Penny Powell (Payton) and Lynn Moncrief of Roberta; one brother, JE Moncrief (Sherrie) of Reynolds; seven grandchildren, Donald Holder, II, Amanda Moncrief, Joshua Moncrief, Mindy Harris, Trevor Moncrief, Niki Evans, and Madison Powell; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
