David Randall Hudson, age 87, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Randall was born in Bolingbroke, Monroe County, Georgia, on December 5, 1938, and he lived a life marked by intelligence, generosity, and selflessness. He was the son of David Franklin Hudson and Amy Clifford Hudson, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his sister, Fay Radcliff. Randall grew up with strong family values that remained at the center of his life throughout the years, and he was known for the steady presence, kindness, and devotion he showed to those around him.

He was a 1956 graduate of Mary Persons High School, where he played basketball and developed the discipline and teamwork that would serve him well throughout his life. Randall carried the same determination into his work and his responsibilities, always approaching each task with care and a strong sense of duty. He owned and operated Moreland Auto Services in Atlanta for many years, where he earned the respect of customers, coworkers, and friends through his hard work and dependable service.

Randall also served his country and community with honor through 22 years in the Georgia National Guard. Later, he worked for the Department of Defense as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic and retired as an automotive supervisor. His career reflected both his mechanical skill and his commitment to doing every job well. He was a man who took pride in his work, and he left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working beside him.

Family was always central to Randall’s life, and he especially enjoyed having family around him. He and Diane were married for 68 years in January 2026, a testament to a long and devoted partnership built on love, faithfulness, and shared life experiences. Randall treasured the time spent with those he loved, and his presence brought comfort and strength to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Diane Hudson; two sons, Chuck Hudson and his wife Tiffany, and Ronald Hudson and his wife Debbie; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Kendall Hudson and his wife Pam; his sister, Maurine Wright; and eight nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, his example, and the many ways he enriched their lives.

Visitation will be at McLeighton Funeral Service at 375 South Dugger Avenue in Roberta, Ga at 10:00 on July 11th, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 at the Roberta City Cemetery. Randall’s life was one of dedication, service, and love, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family, he loved the work he performed with excellence, and the many lives he touched with his generous spirit.
