Funeral services for Floyd Robinson, 81, of Butler, will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Turner’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Robinson passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home.
He was born and raised in Taylor County, was a member of Turner’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 31 years and was a charter member of Panhandle Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid reader and enjoyed western novels. He and his wife, Grace, ran the 19 North 5 Points Grocery Store for many years as well as raised chickens and cattle. May 30th, he and his wife would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Susie Mae Spillers Robinson; two brothers, R.L. Robinson and Paul Robinson; and his wife, Grace Hinton Robinson.
Survivors include one son, Rex Robinson (Laurette) of Butler; one daughter, Charlotte Rustin of Reynolds; two sisters, Margaret Wainwright and Linda Weldon of Butler; four grandchildren, Mandy Robinson (Chuck), Marc Robinson (Angela), Ashley Rustin and her fiance’ Rusty and Brandon Rustin; six great-grandchildren, Clayton, Dylan and Emily Lanning and Colton, Savanah, and Paisley Robinson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
