Funeral services for Gene Wainwright, 83, of Reynolds will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 am in the chapel of McLeighton Funeral Service.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.  Gene passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his residence. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Ruby Wainwright; one brother, Mickey Wainwright; one sister, Ann Wainwright; and one daughter, Dana Michele Wainwright.

He is survived by one daughter, Paula Wainwright Rodgers (Butch) of Perry, FL; three grandchildren, Tyler Matthews (Catherine) of South Haven, MS, Wade Rodgers (Karson) of Americus and Cassidy Wainwright (Bailey) of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews also survive.
