Graveside services for James “Jim” Layton, 73, of Macon will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 11:00 am at Roberta City Cemetery.  Jim passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Regency Hospital.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen Morgan Layton.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Bankston Layton of Macon; one step-brother, Tommy Layton (Janey) of West Virginia; two step-sisters, Janet Wood of Charlotte NC and Sandra Wellman of Charlotte, NC; one step-son, Anthony Serpas of FL; one step-daughter, Stacey Halbrook (Eric) of Spearfish, SD; several step-grandchildren also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of choice.

Family and friends may come by the funeral home Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 12:00 until 5:00 pm.
