James M. Williamson, 86, of Butler passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 11:30 am at the First Baptist Church of Butler. Visitation will be held on 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. Following the service, the family will have a private committal at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
James was a graduate of the 1954 class of Butler High. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, and hunting turkey and deer. He retired from Tom’s Food Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Pearl Childres Williamson.
Survivors include the love of his life for almost 66 years, Maxlyn Miller Williamson of Butler; one son, Jimmy Williamson and his wife Beth of Reynolds; and a daughter, Tonya Johnson of Butler; grandchildren, Amanda and Collier Watson, Daniel and Kelli Williamson, Cherish and Denton Wainwright, James “Blake” and Mesa Williamson, Nathan and Chasity Williamson, and Skyler Johnson; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Lashley and her husband Kelma of Butler; one niece and one nephew also survive.
