James Lamar Windham Obituary
James Lamar Windham, age 81, born 12 May 1943 to Jessie and Maude Windham went to be with the Lord on 21 December 2024. Lamar is survived and missed by his wife of 59 years, Judy (Guidry) Windham, Forever cherished and remembered by his three children Julian Windham, Angela Monk and Steven Windham. His four grandchildren Jordan Windham, Maile Windham, Christian Monk, and Cameron Monk. Two brothers Leon Windham and Pat Windham. Lamar was the youngest of seven children, and he is predeceased by his: sisters, Irene Underwood, Dorthy Stephens and his brothers: Julian Windham, Troy Windham. He is also predeceased by his parents, Jessie Green Windham and Nora Maude (Peterman) Windham.
After serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, Lamar continued to serve the nation via a new career with the U.S. Department of Defense in 1966 as an Electronics Supervisor on Robins Air Force Base (retiring in 1995).
Lamar was also a Leader of BSA Troop 550 and a long-time member of American Legion Post 316 South Cherokee County.
The visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM Monday, 30 December, 2024, at McLeighton Funeral Service, 42 South Collins St. Reynolds, GA 31076.Burial and Grave Side Service will follow at 3:30PM in the Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, County Road 182 Pottersville, GA 31076
