Jeraldine (Davis) Cooper

Funeral services for Jeraldine Cooper. 82, of Rupert will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Butler. Burial will follow at Sand Bethel Church Cemetery. Jeraldine passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Upson Regional.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler where she was music director for many years. She was a retired school teacher, and passed her love of reading and learning on to her many students. Ms. Jeraldine loved the Lord and it showed in her everyday life, in her reading a bible story to her class or teaching her many piano and voice students.  Ms. Jeraldine loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed cooking, putting up vegetables and tending to her flowers. She was nominated by several students for  Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Mrs. Cooper was Taylor County Primary School Teacher of the Year  2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest L. Davis and Frances Grace Brown; husband, Robert David Cooper.

Survivors include two sons, Robert David Cooper, Jr. (Linda) of Rupert and Ernest James Cooper (Kelli) of Rupert; one daughter, Kimmie Anne Bell (Barry) of Macon; three sisters, Ernestine Kirksey of Butler, Janice Brewer of Butler and Kay Hambrick of Madison, AL; eight grandchildren, Ashley Cooper Chancellor (Dustin), J.R. Cooper (Kalynn), RL Bell, Savannah Bell, Oakland Bell, Victoria Cooper, Brettney Placek (John), Courtney Sapp (Forrest); five great grandchildren, Waylon Chancellor, Cooper Chancellor, Mary Kate Chancellor, Gabriella Sapp and Gianna Sapp.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 at First Baptist Church of Butler.
