Henry James “Jimmy” Payne, 78, of Forsyth, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of McLeighton Funeral Service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Jimmy attended Rock Springs Church, where he faithfully volunteered in the medical clinic. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy and spent his career serving his community as a pharmacist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry James Payne, Sr. and Mildred Cauthen Payne; a daughter, Julia Elizabeth Payne; and his brother, Gary Payne.

Survivors include one son, Blake Wyatt Payne of Forsyth; one daughter, Leah Payne Oldham of Chattanooga, TN; one brother, Pat Payne of McRae; and four grandchildren, Madeline Davis, Conner Davis, Lane Davis, and Huntley Payne. He is also survived by his nephew, Josh Payne and his niece, Mandy Payne Johnson; his former wife, Susan Payne of Forsyth as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and lifelong friends that loved him dearly.
