Larry Glenn Benton, 82, of Musella, Georgia passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, at 2:20 am after a long battle with severe heart disease.  He was born in Andalusia, AL on July 31, 1942, moving to Macon, GA with his family at the age of 13.

After graduating from Willingham High School in 1961, Larry worked for the Air Force Warner Robins, GA until his retirement in 1990.  During his civil service he entered the U.S. Army, was selected for officer candidate school, graduated with honors, and was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army.  He also worked for Marshall Septic Tank for a couple of years, eventually being employed with K & K Enterprise, where he retired for the last time in December 2007.

Larry was a member of Musella Baptist Church, serving as associate chairman of Sunday school, chairman of the Brotherhood and chairman of ground maintenance. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Odell Benton.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Cammack (Chris) and grandsons, Zachary, Nicholas and Matthew Cammack, and a son, Steven Benton (Joni), and grandsons, Will and Andrew Benton.

Memorial services will be held at Musella Baptist Church on December 5, 2024, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Russell Whitehurst officiating.   Burial will be private.
