Funeral services for Laverne “Nanny” Willis, 78, of Rupert, will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:30 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Laverne passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025.  She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a retired secretary at the State of Georgia M.R. Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Poole, Sr. and Grace Taunton Poole; and  her husband, Jim Willis.

Survivors include two sons, Matt Dixon (Nicole) of Jacksonville, Fl and Clayton Willis of Butler; two daughters, Glenna Lashley (Michael) of Ooltewah, TN, and Becky Rivera (Paul) of Valley Head, AL; one brother, Bill Poole (Pam) of Butler; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Alyssa, Natalie, Isabella, James, Mary, Samuel, and Brooke; two great-grandchildren, Leon and Isaiah; one niece, Michelle Gee (George) of Reynolds; and one nephew, Keith Poole (Bergen) of Butler.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 4:30 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
