Lewis Beeland Hobbs passed away on June 6, 2021 after a short illness. He was a lifelong resident of Reynolds Georgia and graduated from Reynolds High School in 1958 where he starred in basketball and won a state championship in track. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, and spent his life fishing on the Flint River. He also loved going camping and woodworking. Most of all, he loved his bride of 55 years, Linda Hobbs. They were married June 29, 1966 in Riverdale, Georgia and spent their lives loving and raising 2 children, Darryl and Renee.
Lewis worked at Blue Bird in Fort Valley for over 40 years as a General Foreman. He worked hard and was always proud of his career and achievements and had many lifelong friends. He lived a long, wonderful life and leaves a legacy of hard work, strength of character, and faithfulness, and was always honest and forthright with everyone in his life.
Lewis was proceeded in death by his cherished mother, Mabel Beeland Hobbs, his father, Samuel William Hobbs, and his “little buddy” Little Bit.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Linda Hobbs, and two children Darryl Lewis Hobbs (Sherry), and Helen Renee Hobbs. Two sisters, Brenda Gallman and Sammy Wainwright. He had 5 grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Frye, Emily Katherine Frye, Andersen (Andy) Lewis Hobbs, Noah Michael Hobbs, and Aaron Drake Hobbs. He also had 2 great grandchildren, Anthony Lewis Hobbs and Kyleigh Anne Hobbs.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 7th from 5-7 pm at Mcleighton Funeral Service in Reynolds. A graveside service will be held on June 8th at 11 am at Hillcrest Cemetery.
