Graveside services for Martha Argo Carter, 79, of Roberta, will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Roberta City Cemetery. Mrs. Carter passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Pine Pointe Hospice.

A lifelong resident of Roberta, she was a member of Roberta Baptist Church and spent her life serving her community in countless ways.

She and her husband, Robert,  owned and operated Roberta Propane for 38 years. She also worked at Tom Thumb Glove Company earlier in her career.

Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, James Clifford Argo and Velma Burgess Argo; and her sister, JoAnn Hopson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Carter of Roberta; two daughters, Brenda Allen (Ronald) of Roberta and Sherrie McCollum (Wayne) of Musella; one brother, J.D. Argo of Roberta; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of choice.
