Funeral services for Mary McDaniel Lumpkin, 96, of Garden Valley, will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.  Entombment will follow in Bertha Dozier Cemetery.  Mrs. Lumpkin passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at her residence.  She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, James McDaniel and Hortense Slaton McDaniel; three brothers, James McDaniel, Billy McDaniel and Brooks McDaniel; three sisters, Frances Mullis, Winnie Fielder, and Rose Woodruff; and her husband, William Lumpkin.

She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Lumpkin (Suzanne) of San Antonio, TX and Kerry Lumpkin (Mindy) of Garden Valley; two sisters, Gloria Harris (Blanton) of Milledgeville and Brenda English (Ronald) of Norman, OK; four grandchildren, Courtney Classen (Curtis) of San Antonio, TX, Noelle Doby (Larry) of Woodland Park, CO, Caitlin Lumpkin of Virginia and Brendan Lumpkin of Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
