Regena Ivey Thompson, 65, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 after a long illness. Visitation will be at McLeighton Funeral Service on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held at Friday, September 23 at 11:00 am at Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. Brad Blackman officiating.
Regena was born on February 24, 1957 to the late Carolyn and Frank Ivey and grew up in Roberta. After high school, Regena attended Macon Junior College briefly before becoming a longtime public works secretary in Bibb County.
As a lover of local music, she loved to spend time listening to live music.
She was an avid dog lover who supported animal rescue groups. She adored her four grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Ivey; father, William Frank Ivey; best friend, Evan Yates; and her beloved dog, Daisy.
Survivors include daughters, Kristen O’Neal (Scott) and Ashley Baldschun, both of Crawford County; grandchildren, Bradley O’Neal, Cooper Baldschun, Ella Baldschun, and William O’Neal; Uncle E.W Ivey; and longtime companion, Mike Harrell.
