Roger Lee Temple was born in Ashland, Kentucky on August 1, 1947. He died on December 5, 2023, at the age of 76.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Irma Van Bibber and father Ralph V. Van Bibber; two brothers Donald Ray Temple and James Robert Van Bibber and his sister In-Law Louise Van Bibber.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Jane Temple; two sons, Lee Allen Temple and wife Michelle Saba Temple and Wayne Temple and wife Alyssa Arrowsmith; five grandchildren, Andrew and Owen Temple, Jackson Meriwether, Sage Temple and Aubrie King; many nieces and nephews in Florida and cousins in Kentucky. He is also survived by many close friends who were always part of his life and have always been an important part of his life.

He was a graduate of Wurtland High School, in Wurtland, Kentucky in 1965 and pursued a job with the Railroad company until he was required to serve in the United States Air Force. After service to the country for 10 years he went to Motorcycle Mechanics School in Daytona Florida. As an enthusiast of motorcycles most of his life, the two-wheeled business was not enough and returned to railroading in Norfolk Railroad in Jacksonville, Florida and moved where the job took him in Macon Georgia settling in Crawford County, Georgia. He retired in 2004 after 20 years’ service to the tracks.

Many friendships evolved in the move and all with those who were motorcycle enthusiasts and ventured out to enjoy long rides going to Sturgis in South Dakota and the Florida Keys. He was happy with the hair blowing in the air. He also played a lot of adult baseball and softball teams in the service and civilian life. He also followed his sons and watched them play ball and taught them to ride motorcycles. Finally, he had grandchildren who were very important to him and were his conversational pieces to share or to follow.
