Ruth M. Hicks

Graveside services for Ruth M. Hicks, 101, of Reynolds will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Honey Creek Woodlands Cemetery in Conyers.  Ruth passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at The Oaks Nursing Home.

Ruth graduated from Montezuma High School and attended GSCW in Milledgeville.

She retired from the Federal Land Bank after many years of service.

Until she moved to the Oaks Nursing Home, she was an active member of Trinity Church in Reynolds, formally Reynolds United Methodist Church.

She loved working with her flowers and gardening, crossword puzzles, sudoku, playing scrabble and reading, especially her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Brown Hicks, and Mattie Ozier Hicks; three sisters, Catherine Brady, Martha Hicks, and Allene Cunnyngham; and a nephew, John Cunnyngham.

Survivors include four nieces, Caroline Tilley (Richard) of Reynolds, Sue White of Thomasville, Sharon Davis (Wayne) of Acworth and Vivian Cunnyngham of Ponce Inlet, FL; one nephew, Bob Cunnyngham (Cindy) of Daytona Beach, FL; many great nieces and great nephews also survive.
