A memorial graveside service for Sally Hollis Hardwick, 86, of Reynolds, will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Hardwick passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Mrs. Hardwick was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. A proud graduate of Reynolds High School, Class of 1958, she remained devoted to her community throughout her life. She was a faithful member of Butler Methodist Church and had a lifelong passion for gardening and preserving local history. She was a lifetime member of the American Camellia Society, a dedicated supporter of the Taylor County Historical and Genealogical Society, and a Georgia State Certified Master Gardener. She also enjoyed many years serving as a substitute teacher in the Bibb County, Taylor County, and Beechwood school systems, where she touched the lives of countless students.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hollis and Ruth Hobbs Hollis; her beloved husband of 62 years, William A. "Bill" Hardwick, Sr.; and her cherished daughter-in-law, Melissa Poe Hardwick.
She is survived by her son, Bert Hardwick of Gray; her daughter, Debera Daniels (Jason) of Roberta; her grandson, Matthew Hollis Hardwick (Alexandra Diaz) of Sandy Springs; and her sister, Barbara Hollis Turner of Perry.
