Sherril Dawn Connell, 65, of Americus passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Magnolia Manor in Americus.  A memorial graveside service will be held on January 4, 2025, at 11:00 am Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 33 Bethel Road, Butler, Georgia with the Rev. Tom Dowdy officiating.

She was of the Baptist faith and was active in several churches throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sara Gordene Blackston DeCarlo; and two brothers, Billy Connell and Ed Connell.

Survivors include her father, William “Bill” Connell of Albany; devoted niece, Heather Connell of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Debbie Connell of Jacksonville, FL; half-sisters, Candice Smith (Blake) of Charleston, SC, Natalie Webb of Atlanta, Sharmen Pille (Mike) of Atlanta; aunts, Dot Tomberlin of Cookeville, TN, Laverne Pope (John) of Nashville, TN, Vera Johnson (Wes) of Oakville, GA, Judy Pless (Robert) of Cordele; Lacey Goodridge (Alan) of Naples, FL, Sandy Kendrick (Leslie) of Reynolds, Jerri Lavender of Reynolds, Myra Rutland of Greensboro, NC;  two uncles, Rick Blackston (Bonnie) of Americus and Robert Blackston (Shirley) of Warner Robins; Dawn’s best friend,  Mary V. Gutierraz of Americus; numerous nieces and nephews.
