Terry passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at his residence.

He was a member of Bethel Church and the Fickling Masonic Lodge #129. Terry served as a Taylor County Deputy for 11 years. He was a truck driver for Blue Bird Body Company for many years and received an award for driving two million miles accident-free. He was also the owner and operator of Dixie Dozier Construction.

Terry loved airplanes, collecting guns and knives, his grandchildren, his dog Festus, heavy equipment, and teaching people by sharing his knowledge. He enjoyed telling stories from his years as a deputy and truck driver and about the many adventures of being a “good ol’ boy.” He loved joking about everything and especially enjoyed a Coke Icee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanza Davis and Margaret Bazemore Davis; one brother, Larry Davis; and a daughter, Jessica Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Amanda Davis of Butler; one son, Ben Davis of Roberta; two daughters, Michelle McClanhan of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Jamie Jones (David) of Butler; grandchildren, Anna McClanhan of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Shelby, Jessica, Brittney, and Allison Jones of Butler; and his beloved dog, Festus.
