A memorial service for Terry D. Hudson, 74, of Butler will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 am at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church.  Terry passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his home.

He was a retired minister but was serving at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church.  Throughout the years, Terry was called upon to perform many weddings and funerals.  He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard and had worked as a machinist in Arcadia, FL, for several years. Terry was a master carpenter, mechanic, plumber, and electrician.   One of his favorite hobbies was gardening.  He grew beautiful vegetables and loved sharing his bounty with everyone. He and Patti canned numerous jars of all sorts of vegetables.  He loved fishing, but if there was any work to be done – the work always came first. He was a selfless man who was always doing for others and looking for ways to be helpful.  His main concern was for people to come to the Lord so they could be saved and look forward to Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer M. Hudson and Gladys Moore Edwards, and a brother, H.C. Hudson.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hudson of Butler; one son, Nathaniel Hudson of Butler; two sisters, Sheila Hudson Ellis of Lake Placid, FL and her children, Christa Androski (Paul) of Auburndale, FL and their daughter, Kaylin Purvis (Logan) of Oklahoma City, OK.  Terry Lynn Caauwe (Jason) of Lake Placid, FL, Tammy Jones of Lake Placid, FL, and her son, Jeremiah Jones. Kathy Hudson (Rick Cassels) of Arcadia, FL, and her children, Lauren Walker (Nate) of Colorado and Shelby Walker (Joe) of Arcadia, FL; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

“He always liked to say that his parents kidnapped him as a small child, and it took him 50 years to come back to Georgia.”
