William "Bill" Gibson

William “Bill” Gibson, 76 of Townsend will be laid to rest at Butler Memorial Cemetery in a private ceremony.  Mr. Gibson passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at his residence.

He was a member of Butler United Methodist Church. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Bill is the son of the late James A. and Wilma Gill Gibson, grandson of the late Jack and Bessie Gill of Butler and the late Rev. Alexander and Ruth Gibson of Pittsburg, PA.

He worked with his father at Gibson Oil Company. He attended Auburn University and was in the Georgia National Guard. Bill was an avid airplane pilot.
